Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Mac Plastics Ltd is a full service supplier, fabricator, and manufacturer.  Aside from our full line of plastic and glass skylights, and related services, we also offer the following.

Plastic Sheet Stock.

Mac Plastics carries a huge inventory of a range of plastic sheet products.  This includes plastic sheet stock in Acrylic, Polycarbonate, Polyethylene, ABS, and various other materials.  All products are available in full sheet sizes, as well as cut to size.  Try our cut to size service.  We can normally provide sheet stock cut to size on very short notice, at times even Awhile you wait@.  We carry some very large sheet sizes, specifically in acrylic and polycarbonate materials.  At times we have sheet stock in our inventory as large as 108@ x 150@.

Custom Fabrication.

If it can be made from plastic sheet stock, we can do it.  Plastic sheet goods are commonly chemically welded, fusion welded or bent to fabricate all types of products.  Various edge finishing, drilling, cutting and machining operations may also be carried out.  This range of processes allows for the fabrication of virtually anything.  Add to this our thermal forming capabilities, and Mac Plastics can take your concept from design to completion.  Most work is carried out on a custom order basis.  Projects may be undertaken on a one of a kind, or on a volume quantity basis.  These processes are ideal for prototypes.  Some of our previous projects included such items as display cases, retail displays, literature racks and holders, tanks, pans, trays, light fixture covers, gauge lenses, chair mats, stage props, furniture, etc.

Thermal Forming.

Many plastic sheet products can be heated and molded.  Once plastic sheet has been  heated to the temperature at which it becomes soft and pliable, it can be molded in various ways.  It can simply be draped over a form to create a curved part.  Hydraulic, air or vacuum pressure can be used to stretch the heated sheet into a compound curve or intricate shape.  There are mold and set-up costs involved in these processes.  Some molds are fairly simple and inexpensive, while others are quite complicated and can be costly.  Our largest forming oven measures approximately 14 feet by 14 feet, so we can handle some fairly large items.  Some of our previous projects included such items as boat windshields, motorcycle windscreens, observation domes, sign faces, retail displays, automotive parts, light fixture covers, tanks and trays, etc.
