| Mac Vinyl Frame Skylights are similar to Mac Curb-Mounted Skylights in that they are also fit onto a curb (not included with the skylight) and are suitable for virtually any type of roof. The principal difference between the two is value. Mac Vinyl Frame Skylights are designed with an emphasis on economy, yet with minimal reduction in quality. They consist of domed glazing, a durable weather resistant, extruded aluminum exterior retaining frame and an extruded vinyl base frame. There is no need for a thermal break within this vinyl base frame because the coefficient of thermal conductivity is greatly superior to that of solid aluminum. This property makes the vinyl base frame approximately equal, in terms of thermal efficiency, to a thermally broken aluminum frame. These skylights, detailed in the details section, may be used with either a standard or wide curb. | |||||||||
